Wow. Is it really January? And I'm making Valentine's projects? I must be deathly ill...normally I scramble around (literally) in the wee hours of February 13th, putting together hearts full of cheer for the little people in my life. I always say if it weren't for the last minute nothing would get done...perhaps I will have to come up with a new life motto!
These simple tags will make their way to a bag of heart cookies and into the hands of sweet kindergarteners and second graders. I have only completed two tags, which means I have 38 to go! Oye Vay! Perhaps I will need that last minute after all...we shall see!
Instructions St. Valentines's Day 'Heart You're It' Tags.
I don't dare call it a tutorial, because it is super easy!
1. Gather 2 x 4" shipping tags.
2. Use a heart punch to cut a heart in the middle of the tag or use an x-acto knife if you are a glutton for punishment like me! (oh, how I need a heart punch right about now!)
3. Adhere a piece of fabric or patterned paper to the back of the tag, ensuring it is large enough to cover to heart.
4. Stitch around the heart. I hand stitched using two strands of embroirdery floss.
5. Completely cover the back of the tag, adhereing with patterned paper or fabric to cover up stitching.
6. Stamp, "Heart, You're It!"
7. Add a ribbon

Sooo cute! I love that idea, and the "Heart, you're it" makes it that much better! Thanks!
