I wanted to do something a little extra special for my kidlets to welcome the new school year, especially since my little one started Kindergarten. So on first day of school eve we planned an extra special meal and did a small devotional centered on goals and things to think about as we embarked on a new year of learning. We brainstormed a host of different goals before settling on two that were meaningful, challenging and tailored to each of the girls personalities.
The small art pieces we created are incorporated into their art wall as a daily reminder of our goals and a way to casually stimulate conversations about their day.

The girls also have four teachers and we created different yellow, black and white tags for each one (LOVING this color scheme right now) to put around canning jars with yellow roses for the first day of school.

Yes, perhaps I just needed this really good excuse to make pretty things...but that's okay! We had fun with it and the other day my little one said, "Mommy, that girl was wearing the crown of courage because she talked to me!"
